You will have all seen SID – the parish’s speed indicator device deployed in the 30mph zones throughout the Upper Deverills. Since September 2024 data collection has been enabled on the device. This provides information on the speed and time of vehicles.
In summary:
- A significant proportion of traffic exceeds the 30mph speed limit but a much smaller proportion exceeds 35mph.
- Traffic volumes are typically in the order of 1,500 vehicles per day along the B3095. This is in both directions, i.e. 700-800 vehicles travelling in the Warminster direction and the same again for traffic travelling towards Mere.
