This page contains information that we hope is of value to residents, new arrivals and visitors. We have avoided highlighting particular businesses as we do not wish to be perceived to be endorsing them above others. However, you will find occasional recommendations on the Upper Deverills Facebook page and if you need to ask local people to recommend particular services we are sure you will find plenty of help there.
We have tried to keep this section brief, with links to the further sources of information.
There is also a wealth of information elsewhere on this Parish Council website, in particular on the Public Information, Groups and Societies page.

Telephone (landline)
The valley is served by fibre cable from Sutton Veny and Maiden Bradley to cabinets in each village. Links to individual properties are by copper cable. The provider is Openreach. Telephone (mobile)
The mobile phone signal in the Upper Deverills is highly variable. In many parts you only need to move a few metres before you completely lose the signal. Signals in many properties are poor or non-existent. Contact your service provider about issues.
Internet
The valley now has superfast broadband to cabinets, providing excellent download and upload speeds in most properties.
Access to the countryside
The Upper Deverills is a working farming area, criss-crossed by a range of well-marked bridleways, permissive bridleways and footpaths. Maps of these Rights of Way (RoW) can be found on the Wiltshire Council website.
The parish council has a small team of voluntary RoW Assistants who try to ensure that the footpaths and bridleways are maintained appropriately. If you encounter an issue with any of our Rights of Way, please contact the Parish Clerk in the first instance, explaining what the issue is and exactly where it is. The clerk will then make sure the message is passed to the appropriate Councillor or RoW Assistant.
Churches
There are two churches in the Upper Deverills: St Mary the Virgin, Kingston Deverill, and St Michael the Archangel, Brixton Deverill. They are both in the parish of The Deverills and Horningsham.
